35 years of nurturing young artists and transforming lives through theatre
Bellevue Youth Theatre has grown into one of the Parks & Community Services Department's most popular programs. The theater presents 10 productions each year, entertaining thousands, and provides summer and school-break day camps and theater classes.
What began as a small community program has blossomed into a vibrant institution that shapes young lives through the transformative power of theatre. Our alumni carry the lessons of creativity, collaboration, and confidence into every aspect of their lives.
Whenever I think back to my time at BYT, I get overwhelmed with memories of playing... I found myself and I found a place that I will always be able to call home.

Hear from those whose lives were shaped by BYT
BYT was the key part of my childhood. It gave me friends and experiences that I will value for the rest of my life. From my early shows through high school, teen board involvement, and volunteer work—every moment shaped who I am today.
The skills I learned at BYT — confidence, public speaking, collaboration — have been invaluable in my career. Theatre taught me that taking creative risks is how we grow.
My daughter found her voice at BYT. Watching her transform from a shy 8-year-old to a confident performer has been one of the greatest joys of parenting.
We'd love to hear your story and stay connected. Share how BYT shaped your journey and help inspire the next generation of young performers.
